Why dentistry



   When I was Little, I wanted to become a firefighter because I wanted to help people. Then I discovered that I couldn’t depend on it because there’s no salary, so I thought that I could study something that could help people but that I could also live of it, so I thought of become a doctor. In that moment I could only think of medicine, as probably most of the people that like the heath area, but with the pass of the time I felt that I just wanted to study medicine to satisfice the expectation that other people had on me.  For that reason, I became very insecure of what I wanted, that I thought I didn’t have passion for any career that I could think of. So, in my last year of high school I was very indecisive of what I wanted to become. First, I thought to study engineering because a lot of people said that I was good in math, but then I eliminate the idea because I didn’t like the labor field. Other options were arquitecture, kinesiology, nutrition, but I didn’t like the labor part either.

   It was before the test (psu) when the thought of study dentistry came to my mind. I was trying to avoid this career because is one of the most expensive, but it was the only one that really gets me interested and I would see me working on. So, when I had to apply to the university my only options were dentistry, in three different universities, and I got into my first option.

   Now that I’m here I could say that this career is indeed very interesting, and I only hope that in the future I could become a good dentist and a person who enjoy doing her job.

My favorite piece of tech

This is a difficult question because I’m not a person that into technology. I have a computer, a tablet and my phone. I don’t use my computer that much to be honest, so it’s difficult to use it now with online classes. In the other hand, when I was little my parents give me my first tablet, I only used it to play games like for a month and then I stop use it because I got bored. So, with the pass of the time my tablet died. Now I have one, but I only use it to study. So, I think my favorite piece of technology is my phone. I got it like 2 years ago, when my other phone no longer worked. I use it to play games, to call and chat with my family, to listen music, to watch videos, etc. I spend a lot of time in my phone only watching videos and listening to music. What I like of my phone is that I can carry it to everywhere, it has a lot of apps and enough memory for me. My favorite picture

  This is my favorite picture, I took it very recently. It’s a picture of my two dogs, the black one has 11 years old and I have had it since I was 9 years old. I have spent many moments with her. The white one, I have adopted it like 1 month ago. She was rescued from the street. She was malnourished and had a problem in her skin, so I took care of her and now she is doing fine. She needs a lot of love.   When I brought her home, my other dog was so jealous and still is, we are trying to leave them alone so they can get to know each other better and we hope someday, they will play together and keep each other company.   It took me a long time to capture this photo because they don’t like each other. It’s not the best quality but is very especial and important to me.

A subject that I enjoyed this semester

  One of the subjects that I enjoyed this semester is “Desarrollo de destrezas y autocuidado para el ejercicio professional”. We have these class two days a week, Tuesday and Thursday, around 11 am, a good time because I’m not that sleepy, one of the reasons that I enjoy it.   In this subject, we see a lot of contents and we also have practical classes. In the lecture we see interesting topics and sometimes at the end of the class, the teacher do a kahoot for us, so we can have a class more dynamic, I think is great, because we can see what we learnt.       The main contents that we have seen so far are microorganisms, self-care, diseases prevalent in the oral cavity, etc.   We also have practical classes where we are divided into small groups, so we can have a more personalized class, we do things like draw the cavity oral, carve teeth, etc.   So, the reason why I really like this class is because we can learn a lot of interesting topics t...
